Desert Safari Dubai With Infant

Desert Safari with infants

Taking an infant into the desert requires shifting the focus from high-adrenaline sports to a smooth, safe, and memorable family experience. Because standard group safari tours include intense, bumpy off-road driving that is dangerous for babies, a few vital adjustments are necessary to ensure a safe trip.

Here is a breakdown of how to safely experience a desert safari with an infant, along with a custom itinerary layout you can use for families.

Critical Safety Rules for Desert Safaris with Infants:

  • Skip the Dune Bashing Entirely: The intense, roller-coaster motion of 4×4 dune bashing is strictly unsafe for an infant’s fragile neck and spine. Instead go with the dune drive which is very less bumpy and safe.

  • Book a Private Vehicle: To bring an infant, you must book a Private 4×4 Land Cruiser. This allows your driver to bypass the rough dunes completely and take a smooth, flat tarmac road directly to the campsite or sunrise viewing spot.

  • Avoid the Summer Heat: Only take infants into the desert during the cooler winter months (November to March). Summer temperatures can easily dehydrate a baby within minutes.

  • Bring an Infant Car Seat: Ensure the private transport vehicle accommodates a standard rear-facing baby car seat for the highway journey. As we provide the infant seat for all infants.

Our Family Friend Infant Desert Safari

Discover the magic of the golden sands with the entire family little ones included. Our Family-Friendly Desert Safari is specially designed for parents traveling with infants and young children. By booking a private vehicle, you completely bypass the rough, bumpy dune bashing. Instead, your expert safari captain will take a smooth, gentle route directly to our premium desert oasis. Enjoy a stress-free evening of beautiful desert views, gentle camel interactions, live cultural shows, and a luxury buffet dinner, all at a relaxed pace tailored to your family’s comfort.

Highlights

  • Smooth, Off-Road Free Transport: Travel safely in a private, air-conditioned 4×4  direct to the camp via smooth, flat routes.
  • Sunset Family Photoshoot: Capture stunning family memories on the edge of the quiet dunes during the gorgeous golden hour.
  • Gentle Baby-Safe Camel Meet: Introduce your little one to gentle desert camels at the campsite under close supervision.
  • Mesmerizing Cultural Shows: Keep the family entertained with vibrant Tanoura dance and fire performances.

Important Baby-Friendly Info (Know Before You Go)

  • What to Pack for Baby: Bring plenty of wet wipes, diapers, a lightweight baby blanket (desert nights can get chilly), a portable changing mat, and a wide-brimmed sun hat.

  • Strollers vs. Carriers: While strollers can be kept inside the camp structure, they do not roll well on open sand. A baby carrier/wrap is highly recommended for moving around the dunes.

  • Baby Food & Formula: While the buffet has soft foods, please bring your baby’s specific formula, milk, or purees. Drivers can help keep bottles cool if needed.

  • Noise Awareness: The music during live entertainment can sometimes be loud. If your baby is sensitive to noise, seating further back from the main stage can easily be arranged.

Not Recommended

  • Pregnant women (No Dune Bashing)

  • Individuals with severe back, neck, or spine issues

  • Guests with pre-existing heart ailments

Yes, provided you skip the high-speed dune bashing and travel during the cooler months. By utilizing flat supply routes directly to the campsite, the ride is no rougher than driving on a standard city street.

Yes. Our premium desert camps feature clean, modern, fully air-conditioned restroom facilities and spacious private VIP Majlis tents where you can comfortably change or nurse your infant in privacy.

Infants under 3 years old join the camp experience entirely for free! However, because bringing an infant requires booking a private vehicle for safety reasons, the booking cost is calculated per vehicle rather than per seat.

Yes You can bring it in the private vehicle, but standard strollers are practically useless on open sand because the wheels sink. We highly recommend bringing a baby carrier, sling, or wrap for moving around the dunes. However, once you are inside our premium camp, the floor is flat, so you can park your stroller next to your dining table or Majlis seating area.

Yes. Your private safari captain is fully trained in basic first aid. Additionally, our desert camp is equipped with a comprehensive first-aid kit. In the extremely unlikely event of an emergency, the desert staging areas have rapid-response vehicles, and the nearest fully equipped medical centers/hospitals are located just 20 to 25 minutes away via the main highway.

During the evening live entertainment (Tanoura dance, fire shows, belly dancing), music is played through a central sound system. To ensure your baby isn’t startled or uncomfortable, let your guide know upon arrival. We will intentionally place your family’s seating table further back from the main speakers where the sound is completely ambient and pleasant.

The afternoon sun can be warm even in the winter. Our private 4×4 vehicles are equipped with ice-chilled glove boxes and coolers. You are welcome to store your baby’s milk bottles, purees, or formula water inside the vehicle’s cooler. Once at the camp, our staff can provide fresh ice or keep items chilled for you upon request.

This is the absolute biggest benefit of booking a private vehicle. Because you are not sharing the car with regular tourists, you are in total control of the schedule. If your baby needs a break, a diaper change, or a quiet moment to soothe, your safari captain can pull over at a safe stopping point on the highway or desert road instantly. You set the pace.

Yes. The deep desert sand of the Lahbab region is completely natural, wind-swept daily, and free from city pollution. The morning and evening sand is beautifully clean and a wonderful sensory experience for babies. Just keep a close eye on them to ensure they don’t try to eat the sand, and avoid letting them crawl near camp walking paths where other guests are moving.

Our desert camps are permanent, highly managed, and secure structures. They are actively treated and monitored to keep native wildlife, like scorpions or desert insects, completely away from guest areas. The only animals your baby will see are our friendly, trained camp camels and falcons, which are handled exclusively by professionals.
